Coastal Marine Engine in Seattle did a complete engine evaluation in 2009 including rebuild of high pressure fuel injection pump, new injectors, compression tested cylinders and rebuilt water pumps. They rodded out the heat exchanger and generally made sure the engine would be trouble free for the foreseeable future. The engine in this boat is "eat-off-of-it clean". The engine room and work spaces are all clean and well organized with many engine spares. The engine has dry stack exhaust.
The TAMD 120 Volvo Marine Engine was specifically designed for demanding applications -- tending toward the heavy duty recreational or even commercial use. Made to be light weight, very robust and with low fuel consumption it has proven itself to be a great power plant. Here is a link to review more information on this engine.

This vessel has a very tall aluminium mast for a trawler-style power boat. The seller reports it has a main sail of significant size that is capable of propelling the boat as a "get home" power source or as stabilizer during runs in beam seas. The owner has never hoisted sail but says all the gear is there and available. It is attached to the boom and mast using a style of furling gear. Antennas are mounted on the top with climbing steps attached to both sides. Air draft is 42 feet.

Originally manufactured as a 47-48 foot pilothouse trawler this vessel had an extension added to the cockpit by the shipbuilding co-op in Port Townsend making the on-deck length 50 feet. At that time they also added some tankage for water and added cockpit space. Overall with swim platform, davits and bow sprit she reaches 57 feet. Adding the dingy to the davits can push that to 60 feet overall. GRP hull with fiberglass over wood decks, cabin and house. Walk around side decks, aft cabin with access to the cockpit. Large fly-bridge with spacious aft upper deck . A very robust build as seen in items like the life rails, stanchions, anchor chocks, deck hatches and the list goes on. Her appearance is typical of Ed Monk designs with utility of use and practical spaces so common.

Commentaires du Broker
This Skookum 50 Trawler is a very comfortable and roomy cruising yacht. Her mechanics are evidently very well maintained. There are lots of spares and there is a log aboard detailing her care since 1987. She was repainted some years ago and that paintwork is due for restoration. Her owners recognize that this may affect offers and are willing to negotiate accordingly. Mechanically this is a sweet vessel. She sees regular use and very attentive maintenance. From the bow pulpit to the life rails and stanchions she is built like a commercial vessel with very usable practical spaces. The sellers are about to be two boat owners so don't wait to bring offers. They may even consider owner financing to the right buyer.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
