Built in Rhode Island, the Pearson Yacht Company manufactured the 422 and the 424 as either a center cockpit version or an aft cockpit. This vessel is the cutter-rigged center cockpit 422. She is both beautiful and robust, and was designed by naval architect Bill Shaw for cruising with two couples aboard.

The keel is a modified fin keel design (longer than normal) with cutaway forefoot and a skeg-hung rudder. Keel ballast is 7634 LBS of lead encapsulated in fiberglass housing a deep sump.

A survey of her condition in 2011 revealed above average condition for a vessel of her age and class. She has many quality upgrades, has an above average equipment inventory and shows good past maintenance.

Bomar hatches and 16 opening portlights, all with screens.

Dimensions and capacities are not independently verified by Waterline Boats / Boatshed, and are reported from seller-supplied information and/or literature.

The Pearson 422 embodies the luxury of the 80's with her spacious layout, solid construction, and emphasis on comfort. This is a two cabin vessel with two separate heads. A center cockpit with pleasing lines set slightly further aft gives this boat a stylish appearance. A 6-step ladder descends into the salon from the forward end of the cockpit.

A guest cabin configured with a V-berth lies forward of the salon. It's fairly large with both drawer storage and hanging locker space. It also has a private entrance to the forward head which is to port. Moving aft there is a settee to both sides of the salon with a solid teak fold-out table capable of seating up to 6.

The galley is "U" shaped and to starboard and includes a fridge, cooktop & oven, and counter-top ice maker. Directly across from the galley is a navigation table and seat, behind which is a passageway aft to the owners cabin. This large aft cabin has a walk around queen berth and a private head with shower. Ample storage and drawers compliment this cabin.

Generally the interior is clean, bright and in very nice condition.

The full cockpit enclosure has removable panels that can be replaced with screens. The Groco heads were rebuilt in 2010. Shurflo blaster deck wash down pump.

Saloon has a Force 10 propane cabin heater.

**Motivated Seller**

The Pearson 42 is a very well regarded and strongly built vessel. It's a great design for the live aboard or long range cruiser.

This boat has recently had all the electrical systems renewed with a new DC electrical panel that meets ABYC standards, new inverter and charging system, all navigation electronics uninstalled, tested and re-installed on the boat.

Two separate cabins, center cockpit, and two heads provide comfort while cruising for up to two couples or a family.
