Sunday kicked off with a good day for Australia, Russia and Spain. The three nations won both of their races in The Elliott 6m.

Finland and France were defeated by Australia’s Olivia Price, and the Russian team prevailed over the Netherlands and Sweden. Spain finished the day with a 100 per cent record.

Our own gold medallist Ben Ainslie finished the day with two second places behind Denmark's Jonas Hogh-Christensen.

The next day Ben Ainslie finished the first Finn race in sixth place, as Denmark's Jonas Hogh-Christensen enjoyed continued success.

22 year old Annalise Murphy sailing for Ireland won both races on her first day of competition finishing 15 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.

Yachting World asked, “Is the pressure of national expectation taking its toll on the British Team?” Or does facing the pressure urge competitors into a more resolute and focussed mind set?
