Commentaires du Broker
Boatshed Cornwall have pleasure in listing this Moody 44 Mk1 sailing cruising yacht. Designed by Laurent Giles, with the hull and deck manufactured by Halmatic Ltd, and fitted out by Moody Yachts. This example was the last constructed in 1974/5 of fourteen (14) hulls commenced in 1972.
This Moody 44 was inspected in water moored to a pontoon having been brought back from Portugal at the end of last season. It is UK VAT paid and was purchased by the current owner in the UK during 2021.
Overall, this example is needing some tlc and as a result some of the issues are reflected in the price point. Things to consider are:
Headsail needs replacing (currently being repaired)
Engine fuel issue resolving (waiting on a marine engineer)
Various leaks from windows etc.
On a positive, there are some recent upgrades which also need noting:
Renewed engine (2006) - original was a Perkins 4108
Full engine service (2023)
Fuel tanks cleaned (2023)
Simrad autopilot (2024)
Hull antifouled (2024)
This Moody 44 appears to have been well used and cared for and would be a good basis for a minor project to bring it up to a good or very good standard. When this yacht was completed back in 1974 it was certified by Lloyds Register *100A1.
This Moody 44 is well worth a viewing for the right individual who is interested in a minor project.
