LOA for moorage purposes is 32 ft.
Per Robert Perry, the renowned naval architect, in a review on the Mercator MkII: "Hull construction is to scantlings that exceed those recommended by Lloyds, again consistent with the idea that this yacht will be taken to sea. All bulkheads and longitudinal members are screwed to fiberglass flanges, integral with the hull, and then fiberglassed to the flange and the hull. This type of thoughtful structural detail is found throughout the Mercator 30."
The builder notes in promotional literature back up the observation that the Mercator is of solid design and construction: "Mercators have been grounded, hung from trees, supported from rock ledges, backed into rocks, run into concrete bulk-heads and run into buoys at full throttle without requiring hospitalization."
Hull layup is 7 layers of hand-laminated woven roving and mat. Minimum hull thickness is 5/16". Superstructure is fiberglass sandwich construction, which insulates, soundproofs, and strengthens the entire superstructure.
Fuel tank and freshwater tank are FRP. The holding tank is poly.
Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature

The cockpit is protected by a dodger and features bench seating with upholstered cushions and storage beneath to port and starboard.
The cabin is accessed from the cockpit through the companionway. A quarterberth lies to starboard and galley to port. The galley has a stainless sink with potable water provided by a manual foot pump, a deep and roomy ice box, and a Force 10 two burner propane stove and oven. Cabinets provide storage for goods and dishes. An attractive stainless steel propane fireplace heats the cabin while on the hook and a red dot type engine heater provides heat while underway.
The salon is spacious and open and features a settee to port that converts to a double berth and bench seating to starboard which doubles as a single berth. Deep shelves are positioned on the inside of the hull above the seating areas. An overhead hatch provides fresh air. Quality joinery work sets this interior apart from production boats and the interior is described as semi-custom quality.
Just forward of the settee is the head compartment with single basin sink Jabsco manual marine toilet. A practically sized hanging locker lies opposite of the head compartment.
The forward cabin lies further forward and can be separated from the main cabin with a dividing curtain on a track. The forward cabin is configured in a V-berth arrangement. Fresh air is provided by an overhead hatch.

Commentaires du Broker
This Mercator II Offshores were built in Washington State and seems to be a well-built capable cruiser. This particular vessel is well suited for cruising and has made several known trips to Alaska and back. Here in the Northwest, I appreciate the the propane fireplace for heat, and the red-dot heater capable of warming the cabin with engine heat. The capacity of the fuel tank provides a range under power of ~500 miles.
The Mercator design has proven itself in at least one circumnavigation, that of the Brinestormer.
The interior has a very open and comfortable feel and the interior woodwork and joinery is warm and inviting and exceeds what is found on many boats. The layout provides a good amount of storage and sleeping accommodations.
This Mercator II Offshore presents a great opportunity for an individual or family to cruise near or far at an affordable price.
