Commentaires du Broker
Boatshed Cornwall are delighted at the opportunity to list this yacht. This Hillyard 12 ton yacht was built in 1969 and is a fine example of style and history, and a huge nod back to wooden boatbuilding and the craftsmanship and build quality available from the 30’s through to the late 60’s.
First impressions were of a typical Hillyard centre cockpit wooden yacht that keeps its original appearance. It is only when listening to the amount of work that has been undertaken during the current ownership do you have the feeling of how much investment, care and attention has been spent. In fact, it is reported that this yacht has undertaken 20,000 nautical miles and includes two Atlantic crossings.
Recent upgrades include:
Renewed tanks (2012)
Numerous hull and deck repairs (2012)
Renewed main mast (2015)
Renewed oven (2105)
Renewed Standing rigging Main, Mizzen (2009, 2017 resp)
Renewed sails (2017)
Renewed Heads (2021)
Fridge (2022)
Final impressions are of a yacht that appears to be well cared for and well used. It would appear that the work, time and effort spent on maintaining this Hillyard has given the current vendor the confidence to sail a good part of the world with the family onboard too.
If you like a classic wooden yacht then this is well worth a visit.
