Ok, folks, who wants to own a piece of yachting history? Two names to conjure with for all discerning yachtsmen, “Sparkman and Stephens.” This particular yacht has only had two owners, which must say something about the little ship!
Her lines were defined back in the ‘seventies when all the races were dominated by Sparkman and Stephens, and she has that timeless quality that is the essence of good design; you can tell her breeding a mile off!
Just have a look at the photos – beautiful stern, elegant tumblehome and a delightful sheer. Yachting Monthly wrote in 1980 of the very first Delta 94, “One of the prettiest boats at the 1977 Southampton Boat Show.”
Her present owner has sailed her as far afield as South Brittany and the Outer Hebrides, and he says he would (and has) trusted her with his life. No slamming in heavy weather, she is designed to cut through the waves rather than leap over them, and she is of that generation of yachts when “lee rail under” meant she was absolutely tramping along!
She is well maintained, she is well equipped, she is well worth coming to see folks; but be careful - I fell in love with her and so will you!
