Commentaires du Broker
This Colvic Countess is of a well proven design and is heavily constructed from GRP material strengthened with internal marine plywood bulkheads and multiple floor stringers. The keel is encapsulated within the hull form and utilises lead ballast. Her heavy duty rudder is skeg mounted.
As you step aboard this ketch rigged Colvic Countess, it become immediately evident that she is set up and equipped for serious long term, shorthanded, independent cruising, proven by her current owner having recently sailed her down the West Coast of Ireland. Her sturdy hull and deck have recently undergone a makeover with epoxy added to the hull below the waterline and a polish to the topside, deck and coach roof. Furthermore she has been maintained to high standard having been re-rigged in 2014 and her engine removed and reconditioned in 2010. A windlass and a latest generation Manson Supreme anchor add to her impressive cruising inventory. She also boasts heavy duty adjustable beaching legs, allowing her to dry out in safety
As with many Colvic craft, she was home finished and the quality of the internal fit out can be described as amateurish, which does let the boat down a little. That said, her accommodation is extremely spacious and practical and with some creative thought her internal layout and finish could be improved.
She does have a high level of equipment, particularly, navigation, safety and other supporting systems.
The current owner was equipping the boat for the Med and it is fair to say that some upgrade work is still on-going. His circumstances have now changed hence the desire to sell. She is competitively priced to reflect both her level of equipment and the standard and quality of her interior finish.
If you are looking for a well built boat which is equipped for serious long distance cruising, including the Med, this is definitely worth a look.
Please note, the boat is fully decommissioned and much of it's equipment is stored below.
